Windows 7: Scanner on Kodak ESP 9 not working

I cannot scan, either from the computer or from the Kodak ESP 9 AIO printer. Have spent days chatting with a technician to no avail. I have re-installed the software, after deleting it, a number of times. Finally, I called on the phone today. Although this technician had access to the chat notes we did the installs again. Either they don't know their product or I have a hardware problem although the scanner bed moves and I can make copies OK. Is there anything I can do further?

Solved..... Kodak did not help. No help on this forum so I took the east way out.
I recovered an image where it worked. Don't know the problem but I'm OK now.
