anyone here got SSD hardisks?

hi just wondering if anyone here is using any SSD harddisks, how does it perform? which SSD harddisk model do you use? and what does it cost? I'm thinking of getting SSD but I heard the good ones are expensive at the moment, and not yet worth it.

Here's the one I just installed. Yes it performs well (see specs) and it seems to work GREAT! I can't wait to get another and use raid 0.

looks good on paper, but seems a little pricy for me at the moment considering it costs more than my whole computer lol, oh well...

Tell me what things did you see the most improviment with, starting/shuting down windows, encoding, video editing?

I just got mine installed last night and I'm at work. I just set it up (turned off superfetch and defrag, installed Windows 7) that's all I've done so far. I did restart a few times during install and it was much faster. I am in the process of building a system so I will not be using this as my main system for a few weeks. I know it will be much faster.

I have a older Patriot Warp2 64GB SSD, and it was faster than my regular hard drive. You can see a benchmark on them here.

However, I have my eye on those new Patriot Torqz SSDs though that Nate posted above. I'm wanting to get two of them in a RAID 0 when they get a bit more cheaper despite it not being a bad price for them though.

I would recommend to never defrag a SSD to avoid shortening it's life span though.

I want one of the OCZ Vertex (?) - whichever is based upon the Indilinx chipset - although I read a good review of a new Summit using a Samsung chipset that performs fairly well also.

This may be the new future, though - Hard Rectangular Drive takes the disk out of "hard disk" - Ars Technica

Alright... who's been taking snapshots of the new system I have plans for?!
That's supposed to "top secret"!

Mine has the Indilinx and Samsung parts. It's pretty well made. It kicking butt on the Vertex line.
