I *think* so - I cannot be certain but ISTR that such things poll the hardware directly as opposed to relying on the device manager.
SIW certainly should do so, even if Everest does not.
k thx so much for the help and ill try posting from my pc instead of my ps3 or iphone lol
sis worked on the dry first try. The type of NIC I have is a davicom dm9102/a/af or dm9801 please let me know if there are drivers for this I will also be lookig in the mean time.
Yeah, but it would not be PG, so....
Ummm, OK, that was useless. Power off the machine, open the case, and see if it is an onboard NIC or not - if it is a NIC in a PCI slot, the easiest thing for you to do is to go out and buy a new Gigabit Ethernet NIC for like $20 - it'll have latest drivers available in W7 and you'll be up and running in no time.
If that is not a possibility, or if it is onboard, then let's try the Intel drivers from the Dell download page I linked to in my second post.
john i might just ave to go out buy a new one do u have one that u strongly recommend that is cheap so i wont have to spend alot on it
TBH, I cannot say one way or ther other - I know that in hte past I ahve always relied on 3COM, but their stuff can be a bit pricier than other stuff - NetGear is god, I abhor Belkin *anything*, and LinkSys / D-Link are decent as well. Intel (if you can find them) are good too.
i found a pretty good d-link at compusa i probably will pick it up tonight just wanting to know do u think it will work straight out of the box?
