    Replacement Motherboard

    Hello All,
Requesting assistance in replacing a Foxconn 45CM-5A Motherboard.
Unable to find another one online and want to replace but be able to re-use
both CPU and RAM from the old board.
Does any one know of a board that will enable me to do this ?
    Thanks in advance.
    Mick C.

Your spec's say you have a Asus, not a Foxconn.

    This the board,

    Foxconn - Products: Motherboard

If so then any socket 775 board that takes DDR2 and supports the CPU you have will do. Reason you can't find one is that the old 945G chipset has been discontinued, and short of finding a used one any new ones are old stock.

I got something wrong as the dead board is a 45CM/GM not a 45/CM 5A
I don't know enough about this series of boards to know how much difference it makes, but I have found some 45CM/S boards online.
Could I pick your brains and ask what the differece is between these memory dimms ?

    45CM/S Dual channel DDR2 400/533/667 x 2 DIMMs, Max. 4GB
    45CM/GM DDR2 PC2-4200 (2 memory slots. Max 4GB)

Thanks for the previous info, it gave me something to work on.

Just to bring this up to date and a conclusion.
Managed to find a replacement Foxconn 45 CM at long last, so problem solved.

Rebuild went fine. Computer now alive again.

Thanks to all who gave advice and info.
