    WTF western digital scorpio blue

Okay I'm one of those computer repair guys, where people bring their pcs so I fix them. For the past month Ive gotten 3 pcs that have gotten hdd corruption errors and odd thing is that they don. Overheat they all had win vista and they all had western digital Scorpio blues. Some one tell me is this just suit luck coincidence or should I go sue western digital for making defective harddrives?

Don't overlook bad or cheap ram. That can cause corrupt data on the hard drive too.

As for suing WD, that's pointless. If the drive is still under warranty they'll replace it once you've tested it with their own diagnostic software to confirm the drive is faulty. If it's out of warranty, WD are not liable anyway.

Bottom line is, you can't blame the drive until you've tested it with the maker's software.

    Dear Raffik12,
The next caviar Blue (int.hdd) you lay your hands on for repair, kindly run the "Data Lifeguard Diagnostics for Windows". It's a patented software from WD and you can download and run the Short" and "long" tests for checking any bad sectors or blocks! The website is : http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?groupid=702&sid=3〈=en

    regards,
    Sreedhav
