    MpKs ... files - UPDATE

Each boot an "MpKs...." file is added to the NON PLUG-N-PLAY
driver section of Device Manager, with the usual "this device is
    not connected" message.

Further sleuthing points to MS Security Essentials as the culprit.

Disabled REAL-TIME PROTECTION and rebooted several times. No new files. So far...

Sounds like a system maintenance utility got out of hand.
Unless you are operating with a usb hub or splitter that might account for the additional items. It's most likely a corrupted registry issue.

System restore may fix the problem.

The files are harmless. A right-click|UNINSTALL deletes them.

They appear to be caused by MS Security Essentials. Running that utility
off-line (turning off real-time protection) may solve the problem But that,
    of course, diminishes security.

Many months ago, one of these files would be added each time the PC was
rebooted. Now that doesn't always happen. I occasionally look - and delete.
