Just to be sure that your sticks and sockets are working. Install Everest and go to Computer->Summary,scroll down and you'll see Quote: DMI Total / Free Memory Sockets 2 / 1 This is from my computer, check yours.
Also how much ram is showed is BIOS? If there is showed 4GB,there may be problem with your memory.
It will be good to check your ram with Memtest. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64 CPU Intel Pentium G630 @2.7GHz 3MB Motherboard Asus P8H61-M LX3 PLUS Memory Corsair 4GB DDR3 / 1066MHz 9-9-9-24 2T Graphics Card Intel HD Graphics Sound Card Integrated Monitor(s) Displays Philips 192EL Screen Resolution 1366 x 768 Keyboard Delux K5108 Mouse Genius PSU Hantol 500W Case Delux costumized... I have run memtest for several nights in different periods to check em and their flawless as they should be since they are spanking new : /
Oh also im not sure how many showing up in bios but as said in the original post i can see that 6 is installed with programs such as "cpuz" and similar

Hm... If CPU-Z sayz that there are 6GB of ram installed there should be 6. What's one dimm size? 1GB?
If you have 4 used slots, combination can be 2GB+2GB+1GB+1GB. Or you have 6 dimms of 1GB. (so 2 of them are not working) ?
Can you see in your motherboard, are there really 2 slots free ? | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64 CPU Intel Pentium G630 @2.7GHz 3MB Motherboard Asus P8H61-M LX3 PLUS Memory Corsair 4GB DDR3 / 1066MHz 9-9-9-24 2T Graphics Card Intel HD Graphics Sound Card Integrated Monitor(s) Displays Philips 192EL Screen Resolution 1366 x 768 Keyboard Delux K5108 Mouse Genius PSU Hantol 500W Case Delux costumized... You say that are using 3 slots(2+2+2). Windows is saying that you are using only 2.(6 total - 4 free = 2 slots) . So it seems to be a problem with one of the dimms.
To find out the broken one, follow this:
1. Pull out one of them, and boot Windows to see if there is 4GB ram installed.
- If there is 4,that's ok. The two remainning dimm's are working.
2. Install that dimm again(that one that you pulled out before),but now pull out another one from two that stayed.
- Boot Windows to see how much ram is installed. If there is only 2GB of ram, that means that the problem is with that dimm. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64 CPU Intel Pentium G630 @2.7GHz 3MB Motherboard Asus P8H61-M LX3 PLUS Memory Corsair 4GB DDR3 / 1066MHz 9-9-9-24 2T Graphics Card Intel HD Graphics Sound Card Integrated Monitor(s) Displays Philips 192EL Screen Resolution 1366 x 768 Keyboard Delux K5108 Mouse Genius PSU Hantol 500W Case Delux costumized... problem is memtest dosnt say 1 of them is broken (also i just changed them cause i had the same problem with another set of dims) my guess is that its the slot its in? but the wierd thing is that if something is physically broken then why can i eve detect it with some programs : S | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 home premium x64 CPU QuadCore Intel Core i7-930, 3355 MHz (22 x 133) Motherboard Asus Rampage II Gene Memory 3x2 GB DDR3-1333 DDR3 SDRAM Corsair Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 5970 (overclocked) Sound Card ATI Radeon HDMI @ ATI Cypress/Hemlock Monitor(s) Displays BenQ V2400Eco (HDMI) [24" LCD] Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Standard keyboard i stole from mom and dads old pc Mouse Razord PSU some crazy good shit i dont remember the name on :P Case Cooler master full tower Cooling Custom custom custom, oh boy does it work well! If you have three memory modules, in that board they need to be in slots DIMM A1, B1, and C1. Check the memory slot alpha/numbers in your mobo manual under Recommended memory configuration for better performance. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Homebuilt OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit CPU Core i7 920 Motherboard Asus P6T Memory Corsair XMS 12GB Graphics Card Asus EAH5850 Sound Card Asus Xonar D1 Monitor(s) Displays HP 2709m Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Microsoft Natural Ergo 4000 Mouse Microsoft Wireless Optical 1000 PSU Thermaltake TR2 RX 850 Case Lian Li PC-B70 Cooling CPU-Noctua NH D14, GPU-Stock, Case-Noctua 2x140, 2x120 Hard Drives Intel X25 120GB SSD; Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB (1), Green 1TB (2), Green 2TB (1) Internet Speed Cable Other Info HP bd 340,
