Brother MFC-210C & Win7 So I have this weird problem with my brother mfc scanner, suddenly stopped working, don't remember doing something big on my PC, except registry cleaning few days ago, but I don't understand how this may be connected.
So i have this in my scanner properties, searched the web for a solution, didn't find any. Screenshot Uploader
I get error 0x00000015 "The device is not ready" when I'm trying to scan.
MFC210 doesn't have drivers for Windows 7, it detects the device automatically, since some Windows 7 update, tried to install Vista64 drivers, nothing, don't want to do it again, it's not the drivers, it's some settings in my OS.
I'll appreciate the help.
I have all system specs in my profile. | My System Specs |

According to the Brother website, I think you may need to update your Windows 7 Printer drivers list: Windows 7 Compatible Models | Brother Please let us know how it goes. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Packard Bell OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit CPU Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2120 CPU @ 3.30GHz Motherboard Packard Bell IPISB-AG Memory 3.00 GB Graphics Card (1) Intel(R) HD Graphics (2) VNC Mirror Driver Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays AIO LCD Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 Keyboard Wireless Mouse Wireless Hard Drives WDC WD10EADX-22TDHB0 ATA Device

Irene, thank you for your reply, I did the procedure as you suggested and all it did, it moved my scanner to a separate window Screenshot Uploader which showing there is a problem, still getting the same error, same in scanner properties.
btw, all seems to be normal in the device manager, no messages about any problem there. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number EP45-UD3P/Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. OK, someone has found a driver which works here: Brother MFC 210c driver update - Window 7 Home Premium - Microsoft Answers
There is a link to a suitable driver there - I think you just need to press the 'I accept' button. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Packard Bell OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit CPU Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2120 CPU @ 3.30GHz Motherboard Packard Bell IPISB-AG Memory 3.00 GB Graphics Card (1) Intel(R) HD Graphics (2) VNC Mirror Driver Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays AIO LCD Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 Keyboard Wireless Mouse Wireless Hard Drives WDC WD10EADX-22TDHB0 ATA Device

Not helping, printer works fine, scanner doesn't.
Maybe it is something with the ports, what should I choose here Screenshot Uploader, when I'm adding new printer ?
I tried creating new port, called it USB1 and it replaced a port "USB virtual port", in existing ports.
Tried creating on LPT1, and USB Virtual, and this new USB1, doesn't make any difference.
I don't understand how this could be a driver issue, while the printer is working fine, and the scanner worked before, I just wanted to know if there is something in OS that could block incoming data from Brother Scanner. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number EP45-UD3P/Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. I tried to contact Brother support via e-mail, but they ask for registration and don't have my country in it, very sad. And even if I could contact them, they probably would send me to Microsoft.
Just to make clear, I searched google, all kinds of forums, searched for scanner related problems, the link you gave me, I saw it yesterday, I just tried a different driver then, one I had before Win Seven was released, when I had Vista64.
Well I really hope to find a solution here, cause reinstalling OS is pain in the ... | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number EP45-UD3P/Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. You may need to make an exception for the scanner in Windows Firewall.

I didn't find the scanner in firewall exceptions, neither any software related to the scanner nor the service Windows Image Acquisition (WIA). | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number EP45-UD3P/Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. Have you tried to use a restore point to before you tried the cleaning?
