Just wanted to say a big thanks to Shootist and Dave76 for their recommendation to connect the drive to the regular sata port.

I told him to do it last night via xfire.

He shut down , did it , restarted a couple of times and wow the results he has told me are awesome.

Just to recap, connected to marvell it scored the following -

AS benchmark overall score 338
Passmark performance test score 1400
WEI score 7.4

New scores -

AS benchmark overall score 450
Passmark performance test score 2240
WEI score 7.7

Amazing what a difference in port can make eh!

3/4GB of RAM being used while nothing is using it. Slow performance.
