Can I pick your brains on a new ssd with slow performance
Hi guys/gals
I received a brand new corsair F120 today together with a xfx 850pro psu and thermaltake frio for my father in laws PC.
The rest of the spec is -
i7 860
Asus P7P55D-E
4gb G.skill ripjaws 1600
HD 6870
Anyway I did the fresh build , reinstalled windows 7 and it seemed to be running ok.
But then I ran WEI to check the score for the SSD , I have the F60 version and it scores 7.7 , I assumed the F120 would be similar , perhaps a little lower due to me having the very latest spec mobo etc but it scored a measly 7.2 which set the alarm bells ringing.
I ran a quick test on Passmark performance test next , my F60 scores 1800 , the new F120 scored 900 which is pretty close to what a regular HDD scores.
It showed the read and write speed both being less than 100MB/s? Whats going on? This should be at least 200 right?
Before installing windows I made sure it was set up as AHCI mode and its definately connected to the 6gb/s sata port.
I ran out of time today so I didnt have time to run any other benchmarks on it.
Any idea's before he comes round again tomorrow for me to look at it?
Cheers
Paul.
