USB/serial adapter woes.
I have a new Home Premium laptop, and I am trying to get it to work with a USB/serial converter(FTDI chip).
Windows recognizes the adapter, assigns a COM number, and device manager says it's working ok. I loaded the latest driver.
The software (2 different programs) that uses it says it can't open the port. It all works great on my XP box.
