Windows 7: Upgrading my CPU and do I need new CPU cooler?

Windows 7 Home Premium x64 SP1 retail

I called AMD the other day asking about the new CPU I picked out and I asked about the cooler I have now and they said it's the stock one that would go on the Athlon X2 6000+ series CPU's and only cost $14.95US to replace and has up to 30,000 hour or 5 years rated fan on the heat sink. I asked the shop if they can get just the fan and 2 shops around here can't but one said use it till it dies then replace it. The only bad thing about that is alot of the times I leave my computer on when I go out. Is there any big risks on using this one till it dies?

For cleaning, I use isopropyl alcohol for cleaning old paste, and compressed air for dust collection, if the cooler is installed in the case, but outside of the case, I have found it expedient to use a vacuum cleaner along with a soft paint brush to break loose the more stubborn dirt.

DYI VRM cooler I made out of a ram cooler.
I am not the kind of person to let things go to waste, so when my new motherboard prevented me from using my cool ram cooler, I went to thinkwork (thinking what I can use it for). So I ended up making a small vrm cooler with temp display via LED's, a function that came with it, so I can't take...

Cooler is better
I was playing with WEI and realised that when extra cooling fan is turned on CPU goes from 6.5 to 6.6. I installed fan for video editing and it takes temps from hi 70's down to hi 50's when working. When just doing regular browsing and games it sits around 36- 40c. Art.

My new CPU cooler
I just replaced my stock cpu cooler with Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus. What a monster. Fits my case. Pretty easy to install. Had to take the motherboard out. Here's my temps at almost max load. My stock cooler was around +80C. For $32 I'm very pleased. :geek:

Hardware 101 - Upgrading your Stock VGA Cooler (Zalman VF-900 used)
I'm an Audio guy mostly, other than Halo and Fallout 3 I really don't play a lot of games. I do, however, hate having GPU core temps bumping to 60-70 Celsius at Idle, for no Reason... (except later learning that my fan was barely running and was about to die anyways... so good timing I guess...)...
