Motherboard USB Failure?
Hello everyone, i'm new to this all so if some of my stuff comes off non-understandable just let me know and i'll try to make sense of it.
Basically my problem is yesterday while using my USB mouse I was going to add a song to my brother's Droid. He plugged in his USB connector with his phone only to see non installation or error go. We waited for about 5 minutes, and nothing. During the time my mouse "magically" stopped working and windows acted as if it was never installed.
At this point I restarted and it was fixed for 5 minutes. I then did another restart and booted up repair only to a former date. Windows then installed the mouse when I plugged it in and only that would last for 10~ minutes before dying. Now at this point no matter what I do it doesn't even seem to detect it or know of it's existence if plugged into any of my 4 ports. Even if I go into device manager and show hidden there is no hidden devices, nothing.
I am led to believe possibly it's not dead due to the factor I can plug in my mouse and see the laser turn on, plug in my phone and watch it charge (although it won't read it or let me open it's folders), and other stuff that requires it to at least power my stuff.
What i've tried:
- Restarting.
- Windows Hardware Tool (For troubleshooting).
- Unplugging computer for a few minutes (from outlet) and plugging it back in.
- Uninstalling all drivers, restarting and having it reinstall.
- Disable/Enable all drivers.
- Try the mouse in all ports.
All of these seem to do nothing towards the situation and it's still as if Windows does not recognize that my mouse is even plugged in.
Anyone have a fix or can confirm the USB connector (thing) on my motherboard is dead?
