    [Help] Purchasing new PC

    Hello,

I am willing to purchase another gaming pc. I was checking this deal.
    Mega Special IV

It's $1,245. I can afford near $1500. Can someone suggest me some good configuration.

    Thanks.

well......The mega special would have been good 2 years ago but for that money ,at this time would get you a great quality rig including the os

If you have never put together your own pc before don't worry you can shop around for the parts you desire purchase them and have a genuine shop put it together for you ..

Also there has been release of newer mobo's cpu's ddr3 ram is super cheap now atleast 8 gigs for 130.00 bucks and higher timmings then the 1333

You will get alot further purchasing putting it together or having someone qaulified you trust to do it and you might even save a few bucks good luck and im sure other posters will feel the same way

I agree with Solarstarshines but you need to tell us where you are located, ( Country, or city, nothing specific), in order to recommend shops etc.

It looks like you are somewhere in Central Europe, so American Links are not really going to be much use to you.

OK, then I wont give you any of my recommendations, they are in mainland Europe and would be of little use.

Sale ends today so you could be blindly rushing into a purchase.

I agree with Solarstarshines, 3 years ago I bought a pre-built HP and got more hardware value for the money than now.

I just built myself my first custom computer not having prior knowledge but thanks to the diversity of the members of this forum I was able to do research by searching other threads such as Overclocking and Case Mods to find information on new hardware etc. then using google to find the best price, specifications.

Also what I like about this forum is that members are willing to give sound advice on the hardware selection of a proposed build and guide a first-timer through the steps involved on building their first computer if necessary or if you choose a shop to build it for you than other members may have recommendations whether the shop is reputable or not.

A brief rundown of the newest hardware

2nd generation i7 Intel 2xxx (Sanybridge) processors here which fit into an LGA 1155 socket,The K ones can be overclocked and used with a P67 based chipset board or the ones without the K can be used with an H67 based chipset board that also has integrated video.

A good gaming card can be had for $250 - $350 (can)

Solarstarshines hit the nail on the head with the ram recommondation.

120 GB SATA III SSD's can be had for $250 - $300 (can)
