Half heifgt PCI ==> std size in tower case

    Hi all
Might be a silly question but is there any sort of hardware adapter out there which allows me to fit a HALF HEIGHT PCI (Lan card) into a FULL HEIGHT slot and attach this properly to the case.

Plugging the PCI card in ito the mobo is no problem but fixing it to the case is a bit of a "Heath Robinson affair.

I don't want to get a new case just for this LAN adapter. I've currently fixed it with a piece of Duck Tape but obviously not the best solution to fix the card to the case epecially as this will eventully be a server which will be left running for MONTHS at a time.

Mobo is ATX form factor but case is a TOWER one.

    Cheers

If the steel backplate is removable/interchangable you could see if you could modify a full size one to fit your needs.

If you have a good friend that is a welder by trade he/she may be able to spot/tack weld an extension to the backplate using a piece of scrap backplate to fit your needs.
