    cpu throtling issue with i5 460m ??

only had my laptop a few days.

    specs

    i5 460m
    ati mobility radeon HD 5650
    4 gb ram
    500 gb hdd

    w7 ultimate

playing youtube videos maxes out the cpu

    iexplorer.exe or safari.exe both jump to 89-100%

playing crysis maxes out the cpu, but according to various sites i should be able to play on low/medium settings

YouTube - crysis with an Ati 5650 mobility

for another example... running same graphics card

    even one playing crysis 2

YouTube - Crysis 2 DEMO on an ATI Radeon 5650 HD Mobility

which i also tried and it ran like a slide show,, extreamly badly

    cpu maxed out again..

im just wondering what could be wrong.

does this sound like a hardware problem.. dud processor? or something?

    cheers

yeah i have everything set high performance.

how should i5 460m generally perform?

my desktop is a q9550 and it seems drastically different.

i can have 4 or 5 hd youtube vids working and not have this cpu issue

does this sound like a duff cpu or video card? or any suggestions?

try flashing the bios, even if you are already running the most current.

    never done that before

    Download

    notebook/aspire/5943g

im not sure which version of ati graphics i have... madison or broadway.. it doesnt seem to specify anywhere..

if i uninstall it and reinstall.. would it matter which i use??

do i flash bios with the same one i install?

do i need to use each one in turn? i.e all of them??

    thanks for your help
