Windows 7 Ethernet / Video card Issues

    I have the following:

-NVidia GeForce 8400 GS Video Card
    -ADMtek AN983 Ethernet Adapter
-Envy 24 Family Audio Controller VDM

I installed windows 7 a couple weeks ago and encountered issues with the Ethernet Adapter at that point. I thought the issue was with the drivers, which Windows downloaded for me once I had internet wirelessly hooked up to the PC. Out of the blue last week, the PC kept giving me the error that the Ethernet Adapter couldn't start up. So I uninstalled it on the device manager page. I restarted the computer and all was well. Except now the above video card was showing the same error. So I did the same thing with that. Uninstalled it and restarted. Upon restart, the computer found the driver and prompted again to restart to properly install it. Upon restart this time all was good for a couple days. Everything was working. And then today, the same issue arose. Except this time when I got the Ethernet adapter fixed, the video card was showing the error. At this point, one or the other will not work properly. So upon research, it looks that the Ethernet Adapter isnt compatible with Windows 7. The video card defintiely is. The only other thing I did was install a new sound card last week as well, before these issues. The card is compatible with windows 7 and worked fine and continues to work fine with these 2 other issues. Someone please help with any advice. I ordered a new Ethernet adapter hoping that will fix it , but have to wait about a week for it. ADVICE PLEASE!!!

This issue is actually on my PC. Its a Dell. I have read that this particular ethernet adapter is outdated, produced back early 2000's. It says that the drivers are updated.
