Hi! amitabh, welcome to 7F :)

Any one of us would be glad to help, but you have left us with a dearth of information.

All I know for sure is you have Windows 7, and a webcam.

For most you would need to look into your user manual, and probably install software to get it running. Since those two items usually do not come with a PC anymore you would have to go to the manufacturers website to download them.

I would of been glad to point you in the right direction, but you failed to provide any information about your system.

Okay, but it would still help a lot if you could post the make and model of your laptop.

Instructions are specific to each and every model. Without that information it would be futile to even make an attempt to try and explain how to you.

That is a start, but still not enough.

If you go to the Toshiba Support site You will see seven families of Laptops, and each family has upwards of 40 to 60 models to choose from.
Can you begin to see why it is important to have the proper instructions?

Please go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\System Underneath were it says System, copy the Manufacturer and model into your next post.
Once you know the numbers you could go to the support site, and download a copy of the manual to look for how to start-up a webcam, but please post them here so we can be on the same page.

If you really want to know what is in your machine download Belarc Advisor install and run it. When it finishes and gives you your system report first save it, and you can check it against what it says on the above System report.
It will look similar to this:
    Toshiba ???????
    System Serial Number: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Enclosure Type: Laptop

You could even finish filling in your System Specs

You will also have to go into Device Manager go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Device Manager do you see any yellow warning signs? or large yellow question marks? If not you will have to open Imaging Devices to see if it is listed. If it is not listed:

    • Restart, and I believe it is F2 that you tap for Toshiba, to access BIOS.
    • Press F9 to load setup defaults.. then press F10 to save settings and exit.
    • Check device manager if the webcamera is detected. It should be under imaging devices.
    • If not, If not we will have to download the drivers for it, unless you have the original disk for your machine.
