    New keyboard; no drivers available; can't map multimedia keys


    I got a new wireless USB keyboard/mouse today - a SPEED WKB-1200. Unfortunately, there are no drivers available on the website for it, so I'm stuck with the generic Windows one and therefore can't map the multimedia keys. I've tried everything from AutoHotKey (though I might've not been using it right), SharpKeys (which didn't recognize the multimedia keys at all), etc, and to no avail.

    The odd thing is, I was previously using a Microsoft Digital Media Keyboard 3000, so I had the Intellitype software installed for it. Before I uninstalled it, however, I pressed the IE key on my new keyboard and it worked. Obviously, I wasn't able to map them, but I thought it was something worth noting.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    P.S. It does say it's Windows 7 compatible :P

    re-install the intellitype software and check the new kb again.

    Turns out I had the HID Service disabled (didn't have any problems previously since I had the Intellitype software) so that's why I didn't notice it until now.

On my dell inspiron 15r the F1-F12 keys are covered by multimedia keys like volume, screen brightness, battery, internet, and other. I need to disable these because in some video games I play, I need to use these keys because they are set hotkeys that cannot be changed. Even better if anyone knows...
My laptop's multimedia keys (play/pause, stop, etc.) are the Fn+<arrow key>. I want to use those to control my "main" music player (Winamp in this case). I've already set them in its (Winamp's) settings (they're even in the hotkey list), but they don't work and the Play/Pause just opens Windows...

See title. The little blue multimedia hotkeys randomly stopped working. HP doesn't seem to have any W7 drivers on their site and uninstalling/reinstalling all the HID and keyboard entries in Device Manager then restarting didn't do anything.
