how much ram

hi guys can someone tell me how much ram I can run on a MICRO-STAR INTERNATIONAL CO., LTD MS-7204 REV:A board with pentium D 3ghz at the moment its fitted with 2x 512 ddr2 8x but it has 4 slots

I believe it is 4GB MSI (Micro-Star) Motherboard MS-7204 - Memory ( RAM ) Upgrade from Orca Logic Ltd

great, would i be able to transfer my 4x 1g cards from my dell 545s as this would allow me to upgrade the dell to 8g and get more out of it since it already runs 64 bit, and save some $$$

This will only work if the RAM sticks are compatible. The specifications for the DELL are here;

Specs on that motherboard,

Up to 4 GB at 667 MHz. If the Dell has 800 MHz then it should work in that board, it will just downclock it to 667 MHz.

sweet thanks for the help, just one more query on onother system i am rebuilding can i run just one ram card if there are two slots available or should i have both filled thanks

Yes you can use just the one slot if you wish, but depending on the system you may get better performance if you use both slots (Dual Channel)
