I have two of these external drives. The one I use the most is constantly simultaneously disconnecting itself. From the Seagate homepage I finally figured out that I needed Seagate Manager (freeAgentCN.zip) to correctly identify and test both drives- which none of the other TOO MANY Seagate software aps wouldn't do. Am convinced this is a software issue, although it seemed to appear
connected with memory issues. Also from the Seagate site- many, many people having this same problem- as of today, May 1, no response from Seagate.
