You got at least a couple of choices ...
One, you could continue to try to find a driver
for the blue-ray device. Why Windows Update won't find it, I don't know.
Two, you could contact HP, tell them the drive got corrupted (including the restore partition), and see what they will do about providing you DVD media you can use to restore your working PC.
Personally, I would choose the second, as that will guarantee to provide all the right drivers
for your PC.
