Scanners I have an Epson Perfection 2480 Photo which is a great scanner. Windows 7 does not support it and there are NO drivers for it. So I'm looking for a new scanner which is new enough to have Windows 7 drivers. In other words how can I get a scanner that came out after Windows 7 because I don't want a scanner that came out with Xp and then the manufacture came up with some crap Windows 7 drives. I've look for an hour on the Internet and came up empty. Anyone know of any good scanners that don't cost an arm and a legs that was made for Windows 7? | My System Specs |

I have an Epson Perfection 4990 Photo scanner, which is also "discontinued", but at least there are 32-bit/64-bit Windows 7 drivers for it. I've got them installed on my own Windows 7 Pro x64 system.
I use SilverFast Ai from LaserSoft Imaging as my scanning software, rather than Epson's programs. LaserSoft also supports Windows 7 fully.
Not that I have any desire or need to replace my 4990, according to the Epson page my Perfection 4990 Photo scanner has been replaced by their V700 Photo scanner which is supported by Epson-provided Windows 7 drivers.
Looks like your 2480 is replaced by the V300 Photo scanner, which is supported by Epson-provided Windows 7 drivers. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Home-built, two systems (1) and (2) OS Windows 7 Pro x64 (1), Win7 Pro X64 / WinXP Pro x86 on (2) CPU i5-3350p 3.1Ghz/6MB-cache (1); E8400 3.0Ghz/6MB-cache (2) Motherboard ASUS P8Z77-V Pro (1); ASUS P5Q3 (2) Memory 8GB PC3-12800 DDR3 (1); 4GB PC3-10600 DDR3 (2) Graphics Card ATI HD5770 dual-DVI (1), (see TV cards); ATI HD4850 (2) Sound Card Realtek ALC892 HD Audio (1); Realtek ALC1200 HD Audio (2) Monitor(s) Displays Eizo HD2441W LCD, Eizo S2433W (1); Eizo 24" S2433W (2) Screen Resolution 1920x1200, 1920x1200 (1); 1920x1200 (2) Keyboard IBM PS/2 (1) and (2) Mouse Logitech MX Revolution wireless (1); Microsoft wired (2) PSU Nesteq ECS-6001 600W (1); Nesteq ECS-5001 500W (2) Case Acousti-Case 360 (1) and (2) Cooling Noctua NH-U12P SE2 for CPU, 2x120mm case fans (1) and (2) Hard Drives (1) 1TB SATA-II (7200RPM), 2TB SATA-II (7200RPM), 2TB SATA-III (7200RPM), 250GB SATA-III (10000RPM) for OS;

Sure does look like this provides driver file 12204.exe for Windows 7 and the 2480.
Interestingly, this same source does provide the same 12818.exe driver file for Windows 7 that I've already got installed for my own 4990 Photo scanner, as the latest version.
Does indeed look there IS a Windows 7 driver for his 2480. The product page shows drivers for Vista, so maybe it's just a documentation issue on the web site and the Vista driver really can be used for Windows 7. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Home-built, two systems (1) and (2) OS Windows 7 Pro x64 (1), Win7 Pro X64 / WinXP Pro x86 on (2) CPU i5-3350p 3.1Ghz/6MB-cache (1); E8400 3.0Ghz/6MB-cache (2) Motherboard ASUS P8Z77-V Pro (1); ASUS P5Q3 (2) Memory 8GB PC3-12800 DDR3 (1); 4GB PC3-10600 DDR3 (2) Graphics Card ATI HD5770 dual-DVI (1), (see TV cards); ATI HD4850 (2) Sound Card Realtek ALC892 HD Audio (1); Realtek ALC1200 HD Audio (2) Monitor(s) Displays Eizo HD2441W LCD, Eizo S2433W (1); Eizo 24" S2433W (2) Screen Resolution 1920x1200, 1920x1200 (1); 1920x1200 (2) Keyboard IBM PS/2 (1) and (2) Mouse Logitech MX Revolution wireless (1); Microsoft wired (2) PSU Nesteq ECS-6001 600W (1); Nesteq ECS-5001 500W (2) Case Acousti-Case 360 (1) and (2) Cooling Noctua NH-U12P SE2 for CPU, 2x120mm case fans (1) and (2) Hard Drives (1) 1TB SATA-II (7200RPM), 2TB SATA-II (7200RPM), 2TB SATA-III (7200RPM), 250GB SATA-III (10000RPM) for OS;

Just FYI, I have an Epson Perfection 2400 and there are Windows 7 x64 bit drivers for it. Epson America, Inc. - Support: Microsoft Windows 7 Support for the Epson Perfection 2400 Photo
Why no 2480 drivers I'll never know. Do you remember what the difference was between the 2480 and 2400? Maybe you could try those drivers???
