I have first hand experience with the Hyper 212+ on an AMD 6 Core (1090T) overclocked to 4.1Ghz. Idles at 29* and Prime95 for 10 minutes hits 54*.
I was at my brothers house yesterday and we were comparing temps to my Corsair H60 on my i7.

Zalman or Cooler Master? Which one is better? I got 60 bucks to spend on it
I had that second Zalman and it was not very good. It was very load too with the 110m fan, and was a bear to install. I replaced it with the CM 212+, which was a breeze to install, and my temps dropped 10c (at least) and it was whisper quiet in comparison.

The 212+ is bigger though so you will need to measure your case to see if it will fit. It will clear most RAM except for some with really tall heat dissipation fins.

I dont think I need to worry about my ram cuz their the standard ones.

    2 questions with the 212+

1)Will it fit in an antec 300, Im pretty sure it will but just want to make sure
2)Will installing the 212+ mean that I need to take my mobo out?

If you have a newer Antec 300 with a cutout on the motherboard tray, you may not have to pull the motherboard (depends on if the CPU mount lines up with the cutout).
Go ahead and measure the distance between the motherboard and the side panel to see your clearance.

Another suggestion for the Coolermaster 212+. A coworker of mine just built a rig with this cooler and for the price, it's great. I'm not a huge fan of the Corsair H50 or H70 setup because to me, the fans are too noisy. I value having a very quiet PC.

#2 yes, your case does not have an access to the back side of the MB.

#1. My case is 8" wide like yours and it fits and mine has additional cable routing space under the MB.

I have the newer case so I think I do have access to the back. I have the 300 illusion just a btw.
