    Small problem

Have fitted a Seagate Barracuda 500GB ST3500413AS in addition to my Samsung 103j Spinpoint as it from new (6 weeks) has been noisy.

Howvere I have put in the Seagate but it isn't showing on my Computer readout as anything - anything I've done wrong?

The board is Gigabyte h67A-UD3H-B3 and I've plugged it into the SATA3 _1 socket as it is 6Gbs device and all the other SATA 2's are taken up.

It's spinning because I can feel it but why no reference to it??

    What is "my computer readout"????

Does it show in Disk Management? You may have to rescan your drives in Disk Management and assign a drive letter to it there.

    Hiyya ignazatsonic

Just clicking i "Computer" where it shows the drives etc and a couple of pics of Device manager in control panel.

I can see n reference to brand or size.

    I wouldn't worry about it.

My comparable "devices" list shows only 3 items: mouse, monitor, PC. Nothing at all about drives, keyboards, etc.

A brand new hard disk normally won't show in my computer unless it has been partitioned and formatted.

Right click on my computer and select computer management and then go to disk management and
partition the drive. If it does not show there, then you might not have it connected correctly or
you bios is not sensing the drive.

Don't know about a cure, but a hot toddy or two has been known to make the symptoms much more bearable.
