Windows 7: CPU running hot

XP, Vista, W7 64bit Home Premium

See how much cpu usage you have - task manager - performance - if it should be around idle, and it isnt - its a background process that shouldnt be running using the cpu. Check under processes, and if somethings running reboot - it should fix it temporarily.

I think in doing the clean install you havent loaded all the drivers, and or in the correct sequence - this is more than likely the problem - did it come with a recovery disc if so use it to reinstall w7 to factory settings.

Or go here and to your support page and see if you can configure where you went wrong -

Or you could try this first - put your w7 install dvd in the drive first - so it can copy the files.
Next click start - type CMD in the search press enter - right click and select run as administrator - type this in the window SFC /scannow.

Aside from the 6% that RainMeter uses, 1% is being used by DWM. Otherwise, the remaining 93% is free.
I think I'm going to get rid of my RainMeter and see if that helps any.

My computer did not come with a recovery disc (I did not order one)
There is a chance that I installed my drivers in the wrong order. I didn't think that would affect anything, but I suppose it may have.

Keep an eye on that taskmanager especially when its hot - the 6% would make a difference - see how much you gain with rainmaker removed and take it from there - dont forget it may be an irregular software glitch, and when that happens you need to check the processes.
Other than that if you relocated your laptop from a cool spot to a warmer spot it can also make it diff.

I removed the rainmeter and my temps are back to high 30s low 40s. I guess rain meter really does use up a fair amount of resources.. hmm.. I'll have to figure out some desktop gadget to monitor my cpu usage that doesn't use much resources.

I'm happy your cool again. Anything that monitors your system uses your system.

Get rid of all the dust in your system.
Get your heatsink relatively cold (not frozen) and put it on the cpu. should deal with the heat problems for a day or so.
if the problem still persists, I suggest you buy a new heatsink... or a new CPU AND Heatsink combo.

!SASCore service running all the time, not running Superantispyware?
Found the the above service was running all the time and I only occasionally use SuperSpyware AntiSpyware as a standalone scan. This is solely as backup check to my Antimalwarebytes Pro. May I stop and disable it, and how would I remove it entirely? Thanks Glenn

Two desktops running at the same time. Background programs running.
I noticed this issue a little while back. As I shutdown/restart my laptop, I notice it switches to a secondary desktop that has been running programs. A good example would be trying to open my Task Manager, I can Ctrl-Alt-Del and it will allow me to open Task Manager - however when I click on...
