    cpu upgrade problem


    i have a i3 cpu right now and trying to upgrade to a i7-870 LGA1156, i installed it and when i truned my pc on the monitor didnt come on or my keyboard and mouse, what did i do wrong? and i have windows 7 home premium 32

    You might have to update your BIOS to support this CPU .... but be very careful when updating your BIOS follow the instructions to the T.

    The latest version should have all the previous fixes included, but if you do the live update (scroll down to the bottom of the page) it should do everything for you

    i believe i have updated the bios and i tried installing my i7 chip and the same thing happens, monitor doesnt come on keyboard and mouse but when i put my i3 back in everything works fine....do i need to change anything in the BIOS

    In the BIOS, did you have any overclocking timings set on the previous processor?
    If so, load the defaults.
    That could be what's keeping the computer with the new processor from starting.

    i went to BIOS it said 1.4 and i dont believe i did any overclocking to this cpu

    i did a live update for the bios when ever it gets done downloading it flashes the bios ..it says...error loading driver press anykey then the pc restarts
