this is what happens
I'm still stumped, as to why it is Recovery & looks like it is hidden
I asked for help, but I don't think he will be back ON until tomorrow.
No, this was a third-party drive I bought separately. I have been using it for over a year now with no problems. I only started having issues with it when I upgraded to x64 bit windows.
For the right clicking thing, no. as shown in your attached picture, the only option I have is help.
Here what I would suggest to try and give it a drive letter.
Open an elevated command window and enter the commands listed below hitting the enter key after each command.
Since it seems from the snips that you will be able to tell which drive is which by looking at the partition listings.
diskpart <enter>That should assign it a drive letter if it is able, be sure to keep us informed.
list disk
select disk 1
list partition
if it lists a single partition you know you have the correcd drive.
select partition 1
assign
exit
exit
I'm very glad you got it working and thanks for letting us know it's sorted.
... and a thank you to DocBrown for sending me a message to have a look at this for you.
