if you are running x64 then would see a difference....

Weird.
you are using a IGP (meaning a integrated graphics processor) which means that you dont actually have 2gigs (since you are sharing memory with the IGP and the computer)....
you actually have 1.5 (maybe a little more) | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Tx2500z Tablet Pc/Homemade Server OS Windows 7 Ult x64(x2), HomePrem x32(x4), Server 08 (+VM), 08 R2 (VM) , SuSe 11.2 (VM), XP 32 (VM) CPU Turion X2 ultra (oh well came with laptop)/P4 @3.2 (yes P4) Motherboard IDK HP Motherboard / Intel DG965SS Memory OCZ Dual Channel 4GB kit/ 1gb Dual Channel Graphics Card HD 3200 graphics /GMA x3100 (yay for intergrated!!) So far my experience with 7 is that it fills up about 25% of available memory, which can rise as the machine is running for a while. On a laptop with 2Gb, 512 Mb are used at boot, an on a big workstation with 8Gb, 2Gb are used. Not sure how to interpret this, as the machines both scream (relative to other windows versions) and in neither case do I ever seem to run short of memory.
I thought it was superfetch filling it up this way, but that's shown separately in resource monitor. The funny thing is that these numbers never seem to change all that much no matter how much I am running or not running. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Homebrew OS Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit CPU 2x AMD Opteron 280 2.4 Ghz Dual Core Motherboard ASUS K8N-DL nforce4 Memory 4Gb Graphics Card Nvidia Geforce 6200 TC Sound Card Realtek Monitor(s) Displays Acer 24" Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Old HP Business workstation PS/2 Mouse Standard Logitech laser 2 button w/ scroll wheel, USB PSU Noname 600w (after 2 Antecs failed, I just decided to save) Case Antec Server Case Cooling Air Hard Drives 160 Gb System install disk
