Convert a mac hard drive to NTFS

Dose anyone know how to convert an external drive that was used for a mac to NTFS so it can be used with windows.

is there any app for doing it or something like that?

You should be able to do this with Disk Management.
Hook up the drive to your computer and follow these two tutorials one will show you how to delete the volume and the other will show you how to create a new volume. If that does not work then try Partition Wizard.

Nice one! Sound man! its for a mate so ill send it on.

I dont know much about the macs but i suggested he format it to fat32 on the mac, then stick it in the pc and format it to NTFS.

Do ya know by any chance if that will even work????

oh and will it defo show up in the disk managment? i thought windows wouldnt read HFS?

From what I read online it should show up as some kind of drive but I have never tried it don't have a Mac.

yea i would imagine the same meself. that it would show up as some kind of hardware device at least. just not able to open it.

i dont use a mac either so cant check.

Only the disk as hardware will be shown in Disk management. You will have to initialize it first (right click on the disk symbol on the left), then you will have to format it, and then you'll be able to partition it.
