hi either, I have faced some problem with my asus k52f notebook. Always, then notebook is turning on, without any cd, it makes some noise like cheking whether cd is or not. First boot was setted on hard disk, actualy now it is default settings with prority on hard disc boot. May anyone help with that deal?, it's a bit annoying then with each windows load computer turns with cd voice.

    Hello & Welcome to SevenForums,

Looks normal for me...my older HP does it and my Acer one does it either but less noisy than the older one.

Might depend on your Bios settings.
    Might check that again!:)

Hello nerjok. The CD ROM shouldn't continue to run after windows has booted. You could have a bad fan inside the notebook. Does the CD light come one while rebooting? To verify it is the CD ROM, open the tray after reboot is finished to see if the noise is still present. If not, close the tray and see if the CD will run for a moment and stop.
Recheck your boot sequence and set it to 1st boot device, Hard Drive and disable other devices in the boot sequence.

It could be aswell your AV software allowed to scan the boot sequence at start...that's what it was usually happened on my older notebook with N.I.S. 2006.

also, do you have any shortcuts or recent documents pointing to your disc drive?

Yes, could be "Temporary Files" ready to be burnt on CD, but it would pop up a window reminding that the files are ready to be burnt...

I have done everything that you referred earlier, but its the same, but the I am rebooting with opened cdrom tray it doesn't make any voice. As well was attemted to disable cdrom boot at all but still the same. Maybe it's Av I will try it in a minute to glimse whether it gives any changes. But I have already used to the voice of notebook cdrom.
