well i went from an athlon II x3 to a phenom ii x4 955BE
i had a cooler master v8 on my x3 and according to core temp i was getting about 30C
switched to the phenom and the H70 and im getting to core temp 24c idle, never reaches past 33c on full load
not sure if core temp is a proper temp reader, but my case is ice cold. well worth it in my opinion | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number love-amd...also love-nvidia OS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64 bit CPU AMD Phenom II x6 1075t 3.0 OC'd to 3.85 Motherboard ASUS Sabertooth 990FX AM3+ SATA III Memory 8GB G.Skill Sniper 1866 9-10-9-28 1.5v Graphics Card EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Sound Card HD on board Audio Monitor(s) Displays LG FLATRON E2260, Vizio 47 inch LCD 1080p Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Microsoft Sidewinder X4 Mouse CM Storm Spawn 3500 DPI PSU OCZ Fatal1ty 550w Case Cooler Master CM II Advanced Nvidia Edition Cooling Corsair H70 Hydro Cooling Hard Drives Crucial CT64M4 SSD

What about noise levels? I'd easily trade a few degrees for a very quiet heatsink/cooler | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self-Built in July 2009 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Q9550 2.83Ghz OC'd to 3.40Ghz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R rev. 1.1, F12 BIOS Memory 8GB G.Skill PI DDR2-800, 4-4-4-12 timings Graphics Card EVGA 1280MB Nvidia GeForce GTX570 Sound Card Realtek ALC899A 8 channel onboard audio Monitor(s) Displays 23" Acer x233H Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard ABS M1 Mechanical Mouse Logitech G9 Laser Mouse PSU Corsair 620HX modular Case Antec P182 Cooling stock Hard Drives Intel X25-M 80GB Gen 2 SSD

Interesting. That may be worth taking a look at if it's fan doesn't make any noticable noise like that. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Self built custom OS 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 & Windows 8 Enterprise CPU Intel i7-3930K 3.2 Ghz (O/C 4 Ghz) Motherboard ASRock X79 Extreme11 Memory 32 GB (8GBx4) G.SKILL DDR3 Quad PC3-19200 2400MHz Graphics Card Sapphire HD5870 Eyefinity 6 2GB Sound Card SB Recon 3Di Integrated Chip Monitor(s) Displays 3x 27" Asus VE278Q Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5500 Revolution Mouse Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5500 Revolution PSU OCZ Series Gold OCZZ1000M 1000W Case Thermaltake Level 10 GT Snow Edition Cooling Corsair Hydro H100 Hard Drives 256GB OCZ Vector
