I can fully understand what you went through with MSI. They not only produce inferior motherboards, but their support is extraordinarily bad. I would not touch any MSI product with a 10 foot pole now, even though I have been told that they do make other components that are good. Of course, this problem is not with Asus, it is with the vendor.

That's why I always try to deal with Newegg. Within 30 days, RMA is fast with almost no questions asked. And they always replace it with a brand new item. You do still have to pay shipping- unless you call on the phone. I did that once and they credited my account for the shipping.

But, I do hope everything works out well for you. If I can be of any assistance feel free to ask.

Yeah, same here. I don't know what issues you have with newegg, but you might want to reconsider, at least for the important stuff. I can't see this type of thing ever happening to me. Newegg bends over backwards to make me happy... all I do is ask for it, and they deliver; whether it's sending me shipping labels, extending me discounts past the expiration date (if something went wrong with the original order), or cross shipping... :)

TigerDirect is my preferred vendor, and I would have ordered this from them, had it not been for the 10% eBay coupon that I mentioned. As far as Newegg is concerned, I shall never reconsider my decision about dealing with them again.

I completely agree. That is what I was trying to say.

It gets "better and better". I just received an email from imicros AKA Superbiiz saying:

Actually, the board we ship back to manufacturer and they test OK, it's not
    defective.
Per our policy, we need ship the item back to you, we cannot
    refund money.
The board is defective regardless of what they say, and I double checked the ad, and it says that there is a 30 day return period for money back. It says nothing to the effect that the item has to be defective. The most that they should be able to claim is that since they paid return shipping, that they would withhold that from the refund. I just fired back my response, but judging from the direction that this is going, I'm probably going to end up with a motherboard that I can't use.

If he is an Ebay vendor, you may consider an email to them too.

If you mean an email message to the vendor, I have sent a number of them. If you mean an email to eBay, I just did more than that, I filed a case against them (the vendor that is).

The second part is what I meant. If Ebay were to get involved, the vendor may change his attitide. That's what I meant. Good for you.

I just received another message from the vendor, through the resolution center, and they want to charge a 15% restocking fee since they say that it is an open box item. It was an open box item when they sent it to me.
