Router to switch wireless on / off at specific times

    Hi all

    is there "any such animal"

I keep a router on all the time but I would love for it to be able to enable and disable WIRELESS at specific times -- for example when I'm away. I can access a Virtual server as it is "Lan" connected via a wired connection -- I need to access this remotely.

I only need wireless when there are people in the house.

    Cheers

    Hi there

Is there a way of running a browser "in Batch" - I'm not a programmer -- but I've meddled around with some VBA (Visual Basic) and a lot of EXCEL macros as well as a bit of PHP and HTML.

So could I get a browser to logon to the router address at a specific time to enter the password and disable the wireless.

My Virtual server is running 24 hours so the browser would run from the server.

Not sure if this type of stuff is possible -- I can do things like getting data from the web but actually programming a browser -- not sure what to do.

The crazy thing is that my router has rediculous stuff like enabling "Dome Lights" at specific times -- but as for a USEFUL function !!!.

    Cheers

It can be done with a router running DD-WRT. It also allows for a lot of other tweaking. It's an open source replacement for the firmware on a router. Not all routers cen be updated with it but there is a long list of those that are:
    Supported Devices - DD-WRT Wiki
It has a setting for scheduling enable/disable by hour of the day.
