reinstalled W7 now DVD drive wont open???????

    reinstalled W7 now DVD drive wont open???????


    i just reinstalled windows 7 ultimate x86 (as you man know from my other post) and now the DVD drive wont open

    the windows 7 dvd is still in the drive

    how can i get it working again and get my dvd back???

    To manually open your dvd drive hook a piece of thin wire in the pinhole at the front of the disc tray and pull it open.

    Have a look in device manager under DVD/CD-ROM drives to check if your drive is missing a driver.

    I used a knife to open it :)
    and now it is working good

    I hope it was a small knife!!

    As Pooch said, not a good way to open your disc tray, but pleased to hear you've got it working.

    it was just a butter knife
    and it does but haven't tried with a DVD in it yet

    Sounds like you should be OK then.

    Chances are your Windows DVD was probably dirty or had a scratch mark on it. If you do clean it, make sure it's a clean lint-free cloth, and wipe from the centre of the disc to its perimeter.
