Problem: When the SD Memory card is first inserted into the computer port, it brings up the
driver and the photo directory is available as expected, However, if you take the SD memory card out and without re-booting the computer, re-insert the SD Card back in the operating system, the operating system does not show the drive even though you can hear a tone indicating the system has recognized the insertion of the drive but you cannot see the drive or the files.
Solution:
1. Insure that you have the updated
drivers for the operating system. The Windows operating system says that the
drivers were up to date but an independent tool I used (Parento Logic) is the one I used, said otherwise. I installed the recommended
drivers to ensure the drivers were up to date.
2. It was also necessary to change the properties of the
driver. This is done by inserting the SD memory card in the computer input port, right mouse click on disk drive assigned by operating system, click on properties, click on hardware, click on SD memory card, click on properties, under menu “General” click on “Change Settings”, click menu polices, click on “Removal Policy” and then click on “Quick removal”.
