    Can't see contents of C drive


    I know this is a forum for windows 7 but

    On old good laptop can't see contents of C drive (windows Xp)
    My desktop files are gone.
    Laptop looks virus,trojan...clean
    Looks like all folders (Windows, My Computer, Documents..) are hidden. When i uncheck show hidden files folders appear but gray.

    I can create new folder without problems.

    Check the drive size. Make sure first that it's not empty. Also check if your files are hidden.

    Reset all Folder
    or
    Rrstore Defaults

When I first got this desktop computer I did a windows backup and restore to an ext. HD as recommeded. I have a "recovery" disc as well. I see now that when I open the ext. HD there are 2 folders both indicating "empty". One is "WindowsImageBackup" and one "Owner-PC". This ext. HD is a 1T drive....

I am using 7127 windows 7 X64. On a portable computer, the darn DVD disc contents is there one second, then it will no longer load a DVD. The device is still in device manager. Sometimes it will read the DVD after a reboot, other times it will not. I am trying to load software at the moment...
