Merging two physical disks

Hi,

I have just upgraded to Win 7 and seem to have two disks[0] and [1].

I have seen lots of information but mostly on partitioning which my issue is not.

Can anyone tell me how to merge the two disks easily - I just need the additional space in Disk 1!!

Screenshot attached. Any help appreciated for this novice...

Thank you.

As far as I know there isnt any simple way. If youhave a RAID controller you may be able to span the 2 drives but both drives are tiny and there would be little advantage.

You say you need the space on drive one which is all free space. Do you mean drive 0?

Yes, sorry, I just meant I need / want all the space!

This is a fresh instal and leaving it as is
means there is not much room to store anything that is created.

I knew it wouldn't be a simple solution :-(

Thanks for hour reply, if anyone else has an idea? I have read about changing both to a 'dynamic' drive.. I'm just not clear on this ether.

Oh I need a geek transplant!

Why not just replace the two old HD's, for one new HD.

Primarily cost. It's an old work machine that I was hoping to turn in to something useful for my little boy but of course these things never turn out to be that easy!

Sounds like there really is not a simple, 'merge the two disks together' solution. :-(

You could compress the disk (though I wouldnt) to give you more apparent space on the same HD. would just be a little slower.
