How did you determine it was AM3 and not 2, or something else.
There are some boards AM2+ MB that can use an AM2+ or AM3 chip, but if you can make it work an AM3 board will enable you to upgrade easier.
Still confused as to how you hot AM3.
Nvm figured it out, so any correctly sized motherboard will work as long as it's AM3?
Ran Memtest86, Passed with no errors, does that include or exclude any of the the possible problems?
