Hard Disk Problem

    Hard Disk Problem


    I have 2 hd, C and D.. on C i installed windows 7.. but on D i have my personal data.. before when I had win xp it was working without problems, now I cannot enter it..

    I can`t format it, because I have data on it.. Help would be thankful !

    It would help if we knew what motherboard you have.
    It looks to me like a disk controller driver is not working right.
    you can also attempt to run chkdsk on the selected drive.

    MY motherboard is IBM MS9151 Ver. 1..

    And I can`t Check Disk `cuz it isn`t formated..

    just go into disk management and mark it active.
    It should let you do it.

    No need to mark HD active.
    Looks like the HD was wiped with some type app.
    You may be able recover some of the data with apps.

    I assume this disk came from XP and has never worked with Win7. I would first try to recover the data with a live Linux CD. Linux is not quite as iffy as Win7 and you may be able to copy the data to e.g. an external drive. Then you can format the disk and put the data back.
