NETGEAR RangeMax PCI wireless adapter issues

Well, it seems that after I've installed the Windows 7 64 bit home premium edition, my wireless adapter (NETGEAR RangeMax WN311B) is not working properly. My internet connection continuously drops and reconnects. It's not my ISP as my wife's computer is working just fine. I've done ping tests on both computers. Her computer is currently receiving an average score of about 57ms while my windows 7 computer is fluxuating between 90ms and disconnecting. My computer is not showing the adapter in the hardware section of the computer. I've downloaded the most up-to-date drivers from NETGEAR and even contacted their support line. Their support line wants to charge 40 dollars for them to tell me how to fix it. I'm hoping that you guys have heard of this issue. I've done some research online and there has been a TON of complaints about this very same issue. When I ran this adapter on my Vista system it was smoking fast and I could pull download speeds greater than 1MB per sec and sometimes even 1.4MB per second with my current ISP. Right now I'm having trouble pulling 56KB/s.

I read a few posts on this website and there seemed to be some discussion on a solution. I've tried to completely re-install the device, with no luck. My feeling to the problem is this. Windows is recognizing the adapter as part of the motherboard as opposed to its own separate device. Does that make sense? Even though it's in the PCI slot, the OS is not seeing it as a separate device.

Thanks for anyone who can help me out with this problem.

    Sincerely,
    Clyde Hunter

I came across this at Amazon (of all places...). Maybe it'll help:

There seems to be a few more 'solutions' in the same user review thread. Here's all the reviews:
