    USB Wont Format HELP

    Hello,
I was attempting to install a Windows ISO with the Windows USB DVD download tool. ITs a Microsoft program that burns the Windows ISO to a USB to allow a backup disk, or to reinstall it. However when i tried using it, it stopped, and failed. Now my Sandisk 8GB USB will not format, and says "Windows cannot format." Also i have tried the defrag thing. It also fails in a similar fashion. In addition i have gone into disk manege, and tried to repartitionon the USB. However it doesnt read there. It gives me no options, and has not colored block to display storage of any kind. I am really stumped.
Here is where i found the USB install program.

I understand how to do that. But my USB drive will not format in windows. It always says "Windows was unable to format F." It says something similar for the de-fragment tool also....... I would really like to not have to buy a new Flash drive

I have read that many people have had similar problems, and had them fixed by going to disk management in Windows, and re-partitioning their device. However for drive F which is my USB it says no media and i cant partition it.

What format are you trying to format it to?
Maybe you can use a program to format your USB instead of the Windows Format Option.

    I'll take a look.
I remember when I wanted to format my Micro SDHC Card a long time ago, but Windows Format would give me errors when formatting, so I used a program called SD Formatter by Panasonic and it did the trick.

Edit: How about HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool?
You can download it from the cnet website, which can be found here
