Jmicron 363 CHIP on P5W DH crashes need help
this may not directly concerns windows7 but i'm using 7 and like to find out more about it and make better use of it so i posted it here
if i did anything against the forum rules please let me know
i'm a real newb here after all
Upon trying to reuse p5w dh deluxe motherboard, faced some problems
while installing Oss.
When windows load from my ODD, the computer just freezes.
Operating Systems i tried to install were Windows xp, 7x86/x64
Also used ghost image copies(xp, 7x86/7x64) and pe(xp/7) recorded on a DVD and USB memory device.
In all cases, the same problem occured.
Only using dos did i able to boot it.
Trying to figure out what caused crashes, i leaved only the cpu, rams, vga on the board and powered on my computer.
The problem still remained.
Changed all cmos settings to the default settings and disabled onboard features
Pe bootings worked
So i enabled the onboard features one by one
And finded out Jmicron 363 chip was causing the problem.
Disabled this chip and os installations worked and haven't found any problems so far.
When enabled, the Jmicron chip appears normally on the screen searching for devices connected to the connecters it controls
Even actually connected devices like HDDs or ODDs the chip still notices
the devices and show messages of them correctly
So i guess the chip still works but something causes the crash.
Any possible solutions or advice?
I will appreciate.
