Dual Hard Drives I have an HP laptop with dual 500GB hard drives. The C:/ disk is almost full. Will it automatically write to the other disk if there's no room left on C:? Or do I have to plug in some command during bootup to make this happen? Thanks.

While waiting for the screenshot requested by Theog, I'm going to hazard a guess that you actually don't have 2 hard drives but instead have a single hard drive divided up into partitions that appear as different drive letters. To answer your question, no, the system will not automatically start writing to the other drive when the C: drive is full.
One we see the screenshot of your Disk Management, we can advise you as to the best way to deal with the lack of space on the C: drive. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell XPS 8100 Desktop, Dell Inspiron 1520 Laptop OS Win 7 Home Premium (64-bit), Win 7 Pro (32-bit) CPU 2.8Ghz Core i7 860, 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo Motherboard Dell, Dell Memory 8G, 3G Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 5770, Mobile Intel 965 Sound Card ATI High Definition Audio (Built-in to mobo) Monitor(s) Displays Dell 2409W 24" Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard IBM Model M - used continuously since 1986 Mouse Microsoft Hard Drives 1T OS; 1.5T Data on Desktop, 320G for laptop Internet Speed 1.5M down 1.2M up :-( Other Info Also have an Acer Aspire netbook, a home-built AMD Dual core (Minecraft server) and home-built Pent 4 all running Win 7. Hush my mouth! You actually do have 2 physical hard drives in your laptop! Not unheard of but not very common either.
My advice in this case would be to move all of your data that is currently stored on the C: drive to the D: drive (which is appropriately labeled "Data". Keep the C: drive for your OS and apps and save all of your data to the D: drive. That will also make it easier to do regular backups of your data.
Music, picture, Doc and spreadsheets are typical data files. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell XPS 8100 Desktop, Dell Inspiron 1520 Laptop OS Win 7 Home Premium (64-bit), Win 7 Pro (32-bit) CPU 2.8Ghz Core i7 860, 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo Motherboard Dell, Dell Memory 8G, 3G Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 5770, Mobile Intel 965 Sound Card ATI High Definition Audio (Built-in to mobo) Monitor(s) Displays Dell 2409W 24" Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard IBM Model M - used continuously since 1986 Mouse Microsoft Hard Drives 1T OS; 1.5T Data on Desktop, 320G for laptop Internet Speed 1.5M down 1.2M up :-( Other Info Also have an Acer Aspire netbook, a home-built AMD Dual core (Minecraft server) and home-built Pent 4 all running Win 7. I agree with Strollin, Move all user files to the second hard drive, thus freein up space on the C drive. When C is full it will not start using the second Hard Drive Move user files | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Home Brew - Always under construction OS Windows 7 X64 Professional/Windows 8 CPU intel i7-2600K Motherboard Asus P8Z68 V-Pro/GEN 3 Memory 8GB G.Skill Sniper DDR3-2133 (2X4GB) Graphics Card EVGA 670 2GB Sound Card Asus Xonar Monitor(s) Displays Asus 24" LCD VW246H Screen Resolution 1920X1080 Keyboard Logitech G510 Mouse Logitech G500/Logitech Wireless PSU CORSAIR HX850W Case Cooler Master HAF X Cooling Corsair H100 w/ 4 noctua fans in push/pull.
