    USB lock up

Im running a dell XPS/I5 processor 1.5 tb drive 8 gig of ram and 1 gig video card 650 watt power supply, windows 7 premium
Heres my Issue if the pc sits idle for a while the optical(wired)mous just shuts off no laser no function unplugging then re plugging it in doesnt help i have to actually have to do a shutdown (holding the on off switch tillit shuts off)
any clue is there a sleep mode that puts the mouse in that state?? and it doesnt matter which usb port i plug it in to

try disabling selective suspend. the feature doesn't seem to like some devices.

    To Disable Selective Suspend:

    open the control panel
go to power options (you may have to set view to small icons)
    click change plan settings
    in the window that opens:
    click change plan settings
click change advanced power settings, expand usb and ensure usb selective suspend is disabled.

In a case like this more info on your System Specs would be appreciated.

    Consult the following:
    UPDATE YOUR SEVENFORUMS SYSTEM SPECS

User CP (3rd item in the top menu bar) |
in left-hand column, under Your Profile, Edit System Spec |

Use Speccy - System Information - Free Download
and/or SIW to gather info for filling in the blanks.

Do me a favor and add the word laptop or desktop to the “system manufacturer” block.

Use the “Other Info” block for Optical Reader, Mouse, touchpad, wifi adapter, speakers, monitor

Scroll down and click on the SAVE CHANGES button.
