Windows 7: digicam not detected... (apparently a known Vista problem)

digicam not detected... (apparently a known Vista problem)

Samsung Digimax V4 Digital Camera.

oddly enough, I have tried it on a Win 7 64bit laptop and it works just fine, whereas on my Home 32bit version it is shown as plugged in, though it won't safely remove, and while all the devices specs claim it is working, nothing actually shows up in My Computer.

has this been resolved since it was brought up as a problem with Vista?
