I doubt that any noticeable amount of power would be drawn in this situation
You could go to Device Manager, USB and right click on the USB hubs, select properties, Power Management and ensure there is a tick in the box Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power, on the down side you may find that the ports get switched off when you are using the laptop.
Just checked what you said and found that the option to allow computer to turn off usb to save power was already enabled.

It was worth a try lol I really do not think you have anything to worry about though, as the draw on the port is pretty minimal. If you want why not test it yourself by leaving the laptop overnight and seeing how much battery power has been used?

I know it's not a big deal but the problem is that i have many USB devices plugged in like mouse, webcam, phone, etc and have to disconnect all of them every time when i turn off the laptop which is getting annoying.

You may want to check and see if you have an app charger application installed. Some computers do so that you can charge your smart phone or ipod even if the computer is off.
Just checked all the progams installed and couldn't find anything that relates to app charger or anything.

I think it it still quite strange, this shouldn't happen. To be sure... have you checked that when you really power off the LT, take off the external powersupply/adapter, wait 5 minutes... that the usb ports still have power? does your nic LED also still burn?

Yes, it's strange but it's happening. My mouse LED is still on after having the laptop turned off, when it's NOT charging. You can check google to find that this problem is with 1-2 other persons but no solution yet.

    USB Power Is Always On..
Check out this link for proof.

Yes. The problem is only with USB ports, no lights in ethernet card LEDs when powered off.

You may have something like "Wake on USB" enabled in your BIOS..
When you turn on the laptop, you usually have a "Hit X to enter setup".. do that and have a look around, may be under power management or the likes..

(I would give more but dont know what opptions/menus you have...)

Alright, i've checked my BIOS and couldn't find anything like that or related to my problem that could fix the issue. Will post pics of my BIOS menu soon. Thanks.
