battery report
I was a bit shocked to see my battery health report.Should I change my battery.

1) The first 3 pink boxes simply mean the computer is not set to sleep after it has been idle for a while and the wireless card is set to max performance even when the computer is on battery.
This is a matter of individual preference, you can change them in the power plan advanced options and in the wireless card options. Mine is set to exactly the same.
2) The 4th pink box says avaerage CPU utilization is high. The culprits are given in the yellow boxes- windows media player, aero, chrome, skype and some windows processes.
3) The battery appears to be in a weak condition since its only holding about 40 % of designed charge. This really depends on the age of the computer, I have a 2006 machine which holds about 32 % charge. If you use this machine a lot on the go, it would make sense to replace it, otherwise if it stays at home, just keep it on power. You might get a slightly better statistic by recalibrating the battery (charge fully, then drain till laptop shuts down automatically, then charge battery back up again, then check) but i doubt the effect will be momentous.
This laptop is for my home use..The battery is almost 2 year old one..any way I will re calibrate the battery and post back.
bagavan,
The best program I've run across for giving you more info than one can digest is SIW.
SIW will give you more info about your battery in one place that I've found elsewhere.
SIW is free and a link to download their standalone version is in my sig.
That shows fully charged capacity as 14175 mwh and designed capacity as 44400 mwh. In other words the current capacity is 14175/44400 i.e. about 32 %. Not much joy there.
Your battery is close to giving up the ghost.
Time to go to eBay and Amazon and see what you can find.
Be sure to check out the rating of the seller.
any idea how much it might cost?
