| | HDD I am about to transfer to a new 1TB HDD for my laptop. My laptop came with a 5400 RPM drive, but I am thinking of upgrading to a 7200 RPM drive. Would the HD still work even if my computer came with 5400 RPM. Or must I keep it at 5400 RPM? |

| | Welcome to Windows Seven Forums. You'll be fine as long the two drives are the same type (e.g. SATA) and the same physical size. |

And if ur laptop can handle an ssd then, is a good idea to replace hdd with SSD. It will speed up your laptop,lengthen its battery life and reduce temperature. BUT big size ssd cost a lot! You can use a medium size,fast ssd for OS and programs and a BIG external HDD for backup and everything else. |
