HDD

I am about to transfer to a new 1TB HDD for my laptop. My laptop came with a 5400 RPM drive, but I am thinking of upgrading to a 7200 RPM drive. Would the HD still work even if my computer came with 5400 RPM. Or must I keep it at 5400 RPM?

Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

You'll be fine as long the two drives are the same type (e.g. SATA) and the same physical size.

Hi JerryGallardo10
If ur laptop comes with sata.
And if ur laptop can handle an ssd then, is a good idea to replace hdd with SSD.
It will speed up your laptop, lengthen its battery life and reduce temperature.
BUT big size ssd cost a lot!
You can use a medium size, fast ssd for OS and programs and a BIG external HDD for backup and everything else.
