    Lucid Virtu issue

Just assembled a new Z68 rig.

After installing Windows 7/Programs/Games, the system would hang whilst idling in desktop mode. This would require a hard reset. 2D performance was sluggish at best.

The issue would occur anywhere between 10-20mins.

After some checking, I was doubtful of the Lucid Virtu software. After installing/reinstalling (from the driver disk and Lucid website) I still had the same issues.

Removing the software, the system works without issues. Doing some research, I came across this article:

    Lucid Virtu - ASUS P8Z68-V Pro Z68 Chipset Motherboard Review | [H]ard|OCP

I’d also like to add that after these initial experiences ASUS sent us documentation suggesting that this feature be used primarily with single GPU AMD HD 5xxx / 6xxx graphics cards only. No mention of NVIDIA dual GPU cards was found in the documentation. I did not have any issues getting the Radeon HD 5970 setup. However the Virtu software errored and wouldn't actually let me run the benchmark test. So there is some concern here for dual GPU card users. This issue was isolated to the Radeon HD 5970 only even after the driver updates were applied to the test machine.
    I was wondering:

    1. Has anyone else was having the same issues?,
    2. Should I put this down to immature drivers?,
    3. Is Lucid Virtu a gimmick?,

It's disappointing to have a feature that doesn't work.

    EDIT:

After playing around with settings, I discovered that Lucid was not the issue. The AHCI setting in BIOS was causing instability. Changing to IDE mode fixed the hanging issues as well as speed the system up.

    Lucid Virtu issue

    I have the same issue.
It is worse when I connect the display to the on-board graphics, sometimes it doesn't complete booting.
I have the most recent version posted by AsRock but there is a newer version on the Lucid site. I have disabled Virtu for now.
